Bareboat Chartering

To ensure that your cruise is relaxed,
enjoyable and safe, we want to be certain
that you and your crew know how to handle
the yacht you have chosen. Upon booking
your charter, you will be asked to complete
a Boating Experience Resume and a Piloting
and Navigational Review, showing your
qualifications.

Qualifications

• Recent boat handling experience
  skippering a vessel of similar type
  and size.
• Navigational experience in tidal
  waters. When you arrive, an ABC
  skipper will review your yacht’s
  equipment and systems operations,
  as well as conduct an observation
  of your boat handling skills.

Instructional Opportunities

ABC offers several programs to assist
charterers who do not have a sufficient
boating background to meet our
requirements.

 

Bareboat Qualification Course

A training program specially designed for
individuals who may have limited skills in
boat handling and coastal navigation. Our 3
day course includes “hands-on” training,
covering topics such as seamanship, applied
navigation, boating safety, proper use of
electronics and much more. Class sizes are
kept to a minimum to allow personalized,
individual attention.
Fee is $595 per person (meals, text materials,
instruction, vessel, and fuel included).

Personal Cruise & Learn

Designed for someone wanting to charter
a vessel significantly different than their
practical experience would otherwise allow.
Increase the level of boating competency
of both the skipper and crew by taking
an instructor along.
Instructor’s fees are $225/day plus meals
and accommodations.

Skipper Instruction

ABC offers this program to charterers
who may simply need a few hours of
“hands-on” time aboard the vessel they
have chartered, to brush up on their boating
skills. This can either be scheduled in the
spring or on your day of departure.
Fee $85/2 hours Skippers & Crews for hire.

Perhaps you would like the idea of having
a professional skipper pilot your yacht while
you sit back and enjoy the surrounding beauty.
Our friendly skippers are very knowledgeable
of our cruising waters.
Fee is $200/day plus meals and accommodations.

ABC is well known throughout the Islands
for its well maintained fleet of yachts and its
technical and repair abilities. In an effort to
provide the highest level of fleet support
possible to our expanding fleet, we have
teamed with one of the Northwest’s largest
marine service providers. These highly skilled
technicians are on call throughout your
vacation in case of difficulty, responding
quickly by service vessel or by plane as
the need demands.
