If your insured vessel is involved in an accident and you wish to have insurance repairs done, take the following steps.


1. Contact your insurance company to Notify them about the damaged boat or equipment and establish a claim. You will be given a claim number.

2. Contact Cap Sante Marine to make an appointment for an estimate. Be sure to have your name, the name of your insurance company and your claim number handy. (For your convenience, we have provided you with an insurance form which you can print out and fax back to us, or simply refer to it for the information that you will need to provide to us).

3. Cap Sante Marine will mail or e-mail you an estimate with all of you repair information.

 

4. At some point in time, you will be contacted by an insurance adjuster from your insurance company. Answer all of his of her questions honestly and give them the repair information that we supply to you.

 

5. If your vessel was involved in an accident that involves any property damage or third party injury; or you are the victim of a crime including but not limited to theft or vandalism. Contact your local police department to file a police report. Be sure to request a copy of that report for your records. 6. Your insurance company may request an independent Marine Surveyor physical inspect the damage.

Once their investigation is complete, the Marine Surveyor renders an opinion regarding the cause, nature and extent of the loss. Your adjuster will review the independent Marine Surveyor’s written report along with our written estimate to determine coverage under the terms and conditions of your policy.


7. Once your claim has been approved, you can choose to receive the payment from the insurance company or instruct the insurance company to pay us directly for the repairs.
